Burning Light Academy of Martial Arts was started in the fall of 1999 at the suggestion of a friend and pastor, Mike Evans.
“It’s a way to punch through to souls and win them for Jesus", says instructor Tom Massey. Instructor Massey teaches martial arts and incorporates the Bible with it. The goal is to evidence Christian character, through a Godly attitude, respect, and discipline - a discipline of spirit, soul, and body. (Matthew 22:37) 
The style of martial arts taught is a progressive Shorinji-Ryu Karate.
TNS had 2 instructors, senior instructor Tom Massey and instructor, Mark Tomey. Instructor Tom Massey recently retired and the class is under the sole direction of Mark Tomey at the present time. Mr. Massey has been know to show up from time to time and provide some “motivation” to the class.
